I love a bargain! Diapers $3.99

I read about this offer on Living on a Dime Blog so I had to check it out. $3.99 diapers can't be beat especially when you are a Mom of 14 month old twins!
Go to diapers.com and order 7 packs of Luvs for $6.99 plus one travel pack of pampers wipes $1.99 that will bring you over the $49 for free shipping. If you use my code CARI1463 you get $10 off and I get $5 off, plus if you use ebates you get an extra 1-3% back. That brings your total down to $40 and some change so your out of pocket expense will be the $40.
You also get a free subscription to Parenting magazine but you can also request a rebate of $14.97 instead of getting the magazine you will need to fill out the form and mail it in. here is the form for the rebate request http://www.diapers.com/helpcenter/parenting.htm After the rebateeach pack of diapers is just $3.70!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not a HUGE Luvs fan but I couldn't refuse $3.99 diapers especially since we go through them just as much as bread and milk, ok maybe that is a slight exaggeration but it does come pretty close!

One Less Lonely Girl

I will admit I am still a teenager at heart. I still love re-runs of 90210, still love to listen to teeny bopper(is that a word?) songs and am still a HUGE New Kids on the Block fan. Don't Judge! There is this song by Justin Bieber called "One Less Lonely Girl" that I really like. While listening to the song this week it struck me that the lyrics had a spiritual message. I don't think the writer had this intention but it really spoke to me as if Christ was wanting me to "hear" it and I know God can use anything including a secular song to get his message to my heart. The lyric was "I'm going to put you first I'll show you what you are worth". I have struggled with loneliness and self worth all my life I think in general being a girl having self worth problems is some what normal but for some reason since I have become a Mom it has become an issue again.
As my thoughts lingered over the lyric it was if God was saying "I have put you first by sacrificing my Son for you, you ARE worth that much, embrace it!" What a wonderful reminder to myself that no husband, no boy, no friendship no relationship can be or ever will be enough to make me worthy it is only by Christ's sacrifice that I am deemed worthy. He loves me, he has shown me what I am worth and that is much more than I deserve! Remember girls we can wear a tiara, boys can wear crowns after all God loves us SO SO SO much we are royalty as Daughters and Sons of the King!

The Silent Governess

So over the weekend my family was struck with a stomach bug so I got another book read which excited me. This time I tried a new author named Julie Klassen and her book "The Silent Governess" It was quite different than the normal faced paced, romantic tension filled pages I normally enjoy however it was a page turner in it's own right with suspense, romance and a great story. I would of liked to see a little more romantic tension between Olivia and Lord Bradley but overall found the mystery most wonderful. It had been a while since I read a book that kept me turning pages because of suspense. I am now checking out other books from this author.

Book Challenge

I ready some where about a book challenge where you are suppose to read 24 Historical Christian fiction this year so I thought why not.

My first Book I finished before my husband had to go back to work, thus why I finished it in 24 hours. "The Raven Saint" by M.L. Tyndall

This book was my favorite out of the "Charles Towne Belles" series. It is romantic, adventurous, and spunky. I will definitely be rereading this one, it was that good!
I think I related to heroine a lot she tended to be a prude at times and I am a lot like that especially in the spiritual sense in not seeing my own failings as much as I see others. I love a book that makes me have butterflies and also teaches me a spiritual lesson. Really what more can you ask for?

Snow Day or Cold Day

There is only about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground but it feels like -11 outside right now therefore I think they called school off because of the cold and not because of the snow.
This Texas girl is not use to the cold at least not this type of cold, this bitter cold that stings your skin when you step outside. It is days like these when I thank God for coffee!

I love Christian Romance...

I admit I have always been in love with falling in love. Gone with the Wind, Gidget and Tammy movies are my favorites. I love the clash between man and woman, I love how Christian writers can take that romantic tension and put into words and write fabulous novels. Even more so I have to thank God for giving these sort of talents to people because it has allowed me the freedom to get away from my own reality and at times being a mom of four young children getting away from diaper changes, cleaning up messes, wiping noses, sleepless nights, cooking dinner only to have your kids tell you "YUCK!", washing a sink full of dishes for the fourth time in one day, early wake ups and the slew of other duties moms accomplish means a whole LOT! It means I get to rejuvenate and do something I enjoy, it means I might get that spark ignited again and I might see my husband in a new light, it means for a while I can let my guard down and relax. Let's hope I find some rejuvenation today because school has been canceled and we have cabin fever!

Happy 2010!

Happy 2010! My 6 week challenge to lose some of my weight has begun. I actually started Wednesday. So far so good I have worked out two days in a row. I use the Wii EA sports Active game and love it. My hubby bought the new workout game for me for Christmas and for the life of me cannot get the hang of water skiing. I guess all the practice and restarts will eventually pay off and I will lose like 10 lbs because of all the trying :D
